Panthers Fall to Rangers in GLIAC Tournament Quarterfinals

KENOSHA, Wis. -  The Davenport University women's volleyball team was swept (3-0) in the opening round of the GLIAC Tournament on Wednesday evening at DeSimone Arena, marking the end of their 2023 campaign. Lindsay Taylor led the Panthers with 16 kills and 16 assists, ending the season with eight straight double-doubles.

Despite the sweep, the match was tightly contested, as all three sets were decided by three points or less.

Late in the first set, Emmy Webb slammed a kill off an assist from Lexie Beeke to boost DU's lead to three points, 22-19. However, the Rangers ended the set on a 6-1 rally to take a 1-0 advantage in the match.

Davenport also led late in the second set, holding a 22-16 lead following back-to-back kills by Taylor. Again, Parkside stormed back with an 8-1 run and eventually won the set 27-25. The Rangers finished the sweep in set three, defeating the Panthers, 25-22.

Morgan Tydings finished with seven kills and three digs for the Panthers. Sydney Swan added six kills and three digs, while Webb chipped in with five kills and four total blocks. Beeke finished with a match-high 21 assists for DU, while Nicole Odeen dished out 15.

Defensively, Stephanie Kalinowski ended the night with 14 digs for Davenport.
