Grand Rapids, Mich. - The men's tennis team hosted Walsh on Saturday afternoon at MVP SportsPlex in a non-conference matchup in region. The Cavaliers made just enough plays in a 4-3 win over the Panthers.
The Panthers earned the doubles point, winning two out of the three matches. For one doubles,
Jan Stolin and
Joel Mast were given trouble losing 6-4.
Carlos Henriquez and
Simone Pacciolla at two doubles did well in a physical set as they earned the 6-4 victory.
Daniil Khitrou and
Subash Paramasivam clinched the point for doubles 6-4 in a grueling contest.
Paramasivam struggled at the one position, earning five games before ultimately falling 6-1, 6-4. At two singles, Stolin won comfortably over Kohler, dropping just seven games en route to a 7-6(5), 6-1 win. Mast lost at three singles 6-4,3-6, 5-7 after winning the first set as the match was lost on a tense deuce point. Khitrou was dropped at four singles 6-1, 6-1 by Ruiz.
Jose Brenes in the fifth spot, went the distance before losing 6-3, 2-6, 1-6 to Dawson Drummond. Henriquez earned a win at six singles 6-3, 6-1 over Alex Medina.
