UNIV. CENTER, Mich. - The Davenport track and field teams were able to have several outstandings performances at the GLIAC Indoor Championships hosted by Saginaw Valley State over the last two days. The men's team finished third with 89 points out of seven schools, while the women's team finished fifth out of nine schools with 62 points.
Noah Dooley was a GLIAC Champion in the heptathlon and set a school record with 5,283 points. He is also 13th nationally with his performance.
Bryce Albrecht was also third in the heptathlon with 4,728 points.
The second-place finishes included
Brendan LaLonde in the 60 meters (6.90) just shy of first place at 6.87 seconds. LaLonde also finished second in the 200 meters (21.58) which reached a national mark and was a school record.
Erin Dorn in the 800 meters finished in a time of 2:13.30.
Annabelle Schafer in the pentathlon was a national qualifier with 3,349 points.
Sidney Heugel placed second in the pole vault with a height of 12' 7.25".Â
The third-place finishes included
Mackenzie Brigham in the long jump (17' 9.5") and the triple jump (36' 9").
Ethan Flores reached the podium in the 60 hurdles (8.24) and is a national qualifier.
Nick Ruvalcaba in the pole vault (15' 7.75") placed third.
Noah Evers had a distance of 53' 11.75" in the shot put. The men's 4x400 relay also placed third with a time of 3:21.50 consisting of LaLonde,
Nolan Kudera,
Shawn Sims, and
Collin Graham.
