Findlay gets the narrow win over Davenport

ORLANDO, Fla. - Men's tennis carried on with their spring break trip at the USTA National Campus on a refreshing morning on Monday. The men faced a familiar Division II foe in the University of Findlay. 

The Panthers showed some grit to gut out the doubles point. At three doubles Daniil Khitrou and Subash Paramasivam put the Panthers one step closer with a 6-2 win over Octavio Carrasco and Mark Ivanov. Carlos Henriquez and Simone Pacciolla positioned at two doubles took a hard loss to Luigi Bove and Dallas Ramsey 6-3. It was left up to, Jan Stolin and Joel Mast at one doubles pushing the Panthers over the line to claim the point. 

However, the Oilers had some plans as they came hot out the gate for singles. Stolin at two singles continued to light the Panthers flame earning a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Berlanga. Brenes at five singles tied up in a physical contest as the match is lost (6-1, 6-4). Marius Pion put in at the six singles position is met with an onslaught of high-spinning balls in the backcourt, losing (6-2, 6-2) to Carrasco. Paramasiviam at one singles, the new comeback kid wins the match down a set and a break to give the 3-2 edge to the Panthers. Khitrou at four singles faced a fierce opponent in Lara who brought the 6'4 machine down (6-3, 7-5). Lastly, at three singles Mast was dropped Andrew Codita in a grinding two-set match (6-3, 7-5).
