MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The night game against Montevallo did not disappoint on Tuesday but in the end it was the Falcons holding firm on their home field with a 9-8 win over Davenport in non-conference action.

The game scoring went back and forth throughout as neither team had more than a three-goal lead. The Falcons had that lead after a goal by Chaiton Williams with 9:48 left in the third quarter. Keelan McKouen had a goal at 13:52 of the fourth quarter from James Johnston and that was answered by Williams at 12:39 to make it 8-5.

Davenport got a man-up goal from Luke Eichbauer at the 8:50 mark and then just seven seconds later off a faceoff win it was Johnston with a goal from Andy Trapp to make it 8-7. Morgan Trites extended the lead back to 9-7 with 3:48 left from Coleman Hargis. DU was able to score with 16 seconds left from Jayden Ashley, but could not win the ensuing faceoff and get another chance.

Ashley led the Panthers with three goals and Johnston chipped in with two goals. Sean Ryan also had a goal in the game for the Panthers. Ashley and Luke Eichbauer each had six total shots. The faceoff category prevented the Panthers from winning as Montevallo won 18-of-21. There were also a ton of penalties with nine by the Panthers and five by the Falcons.
