GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The men's tennis team competed at the Grand Rapids Racquet and Fitness on a pleasant winter afternoon with a 6-1 win over Aquinas on Friday. The Panthers first dual match of their 2023 spring expedition after a long off-season produced the right result.

Despite claiming the doubles point, the Panthers struggled at times. Jan Stolin and Joel Mast dropped their match at one doubles 6-4 against Tom Gagnov and Josep Coll Llopis. Carlos Henriquez and Simone Pacciolla created a strong team with a win at two doubles 7-5 over Nicholas Klak and Max Goldbeck-Lowe. Daniil Khitrou and Subash Paramasivam in at the third doubles earn a convincing 6-0 win over Jackson VanBergen and Mariano Arroyo.

Paramasiviam at one singles dug out a 6-4, 7-5 win over Gagnov. At two singles even after claiming the first set 6-2, Stolin is ousted by Coll Llopis. Khitrou had a hard-fought match at three singles against Klak. Despite winning the first set 7-5 he was forced into a battle dropping the second set 4-6 to ultimately closing out the match 6-0 in the third. Nevertheless, clinching the match for the Panthers at three singles Mast outlasts Goldbeck-Lowe 6-2, 2-6, 6-3.
