ORLANDO, Fla. - The women's tennis team notched win No. 9 in the morning session on Wednesday with a 7-0 win over Bethel (Ind.). In the afternoon, it was Ave Maria who handed the Panthers loss No. 5 of the season 4-3.

The Panthers swept the doubles point dropping only a total of five games across three matches against the Pilots. At one doubles,
Amy Bloch and
Willemien Coetzee earned a comfortable 6-2 win over Elizaveta Mikhailova and Kyla Heckaman. In two doubles,
Skye Vandeleur and
Hermon Mikael formed a tandem and they won 6-3 over Alexia Pena and Moana Martins. At three doubles, it was
Louise Hosking and
Isabella Carofano cruising to a 6-0 victory over Saige Rinkenberger and Anna Story.

Bloch at one singles dismissed Mikhailova (6-2, 6-4). For the two-singles spot, Coetzee earned a rewarding victory over Pena (6-2, 6-4). Carofano in at three singles was tested by Heckaman before winning (6-2, 4-6, 10-0) with a perfect super tiebreaker. Four singles belonged to Hosking who made quick work of Martins with a 6-1, 6-0 victory.
Kumiko Yamaguchi and
Valentina Moreno also earned deserving wins to conclude the sweep over Bethel.

Skye Vandeleur and
Hermon Mikael secured the point with a 6-3 win over Andrea Rodriguez and Valentine Colin. For three doubles,
Louise Hosking and
Isabella Carofano were blitzed to a 6-1 defeat by Regina Ruiz and Nicolle Koop.

Davenport women began singles with the 1-0 lead after doubles. Bloch at one singles earned the impressive 6-2. 6-1 victory over Teodoro. At the two-singles spot, Coetzee had a heartbreaking finish losing the contest 3-6, 6-3, 4-6 to Colin. Carofano in at five showed brilliance at moments before being defeated by Ruiz (6-4, 7-5). Hosking at six singles won her match against Nicolle Koop (6-1, 6-4). The clinching point for Ave Maria came at three singles as Vandeleur lost in a thrilling three-set match (6-3, 5-7, 0-6). Mikael in at four singles was among others losing in three sets (6-4, 2-6. 1-6).Â
