GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport women's tennis team was in action off the back of their spring break trip. The Panthers were challenged in a Division II matchup against Tiffin University on Sunday afternoon inside MVP SportsPlex.

The Panthers swept the doubles, earning the point with flying colors. For one doubles,
Amy Bloch and
Willemien Coetzee earned a comfortable 6-2 win over Carina Avram and Anaelle Lepinay. In the two doubles spot,
Skye Vandeleur and
Hermon Mikael captured the point for the Panthers with a 6-4 victory over Emily Barrett and Shea Foster. At three doubles,
Louise Hosking and
Isabella Carofano worked hard to earn the 6-3 win over Jessica Peace and Mathilde Gilles.

Although the Panthers claimed the doubles point, they started to slow down when it came to singles. Bloch played one singles and lost a grueling three-set match (6-1, 4-6, 2-6) to Lepinay. Coetzee at two singles also had a physical battle losing (6-4, 5-7, 3-6). Vandeleur in at three singles made quick work as the match was over in a flash (6-2, 6-4) over Peace. Mikael battled at four singles to a 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 victory over Avram. Carofano showed poise at five singles despite the 7-6(7-3), 6-2 defeat by Celine Ferron. Hosking played six singles and was ousted by Gilles (6-4, 6-1).
Davenport is now 9-6 overall this season and next up will start GLIAC play against Saginaw Valley State on March 18.
