DU Dominates Tiffin to Conclude Road Stretch

TIFFIN, Ohio - Blakely Malpass, Ayanna Turrubiates, and Jordon Highley all found the back of the net four times to lead the Davenport women's lacrosse team to an 18-3 victory over Tiffin Sunday afternoon at Frost-Kalnow Stadium. Malpass added a pair of assists and draw controls to her scoring efforts, while Turrubiates recorded nine draw controls, marking a career-high.

The Panthers (1-5, 0-0 GLIAC) established their dominance early, as Malpass set in motion an 8-0 run to start the game as she scored the first goal 3:20 into the contest. Highley notched a hat-trick in the first period, scoring three goals in a span of 3:43.

Davenport took a commanding 13-2 lead heading into the break as Marisa Scola scored her second goal of the game to cap off the first half.

Coming out of the break, the Panthers' defense remained stout, only allowing one goal in the second half, shutting out the Dragon (3-4, 0-0 G-MAC) in the final period.

Jenna Gills was a part of all three of Davenport's goals in the fourth period, assisting on the first two and putting one in herself for the final goal of the game. The freshman finished with a career-high six assists in the win for DU.

Maisy Latus was in the net for all 60 minutes for the Panthers, recording seven saves on 13 shots faced.

Looking ahead, the Panthers will play their first home game of the season on Friday at 5 p.m. against No. 1 Indianapolis, marking the third-ranked opponent faced this season.
