GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The men's tennis team was back in action at home on Saturday morning as they finished the weekend with Lake Superior State. The Panthers earned the 6-1 victory over the Lakers at the Grand Rapids Racquet and Fitness Club.
The Panthers claimed the doubles point.
Jan Stolin and
Joel Mast competed at one doubles, as they dropped the match 6-4 to Aaron Osmond and Maxence Hamon.
Daniil Khitrou and
Subash Paramasivam played three doubles they posted an outstanding, but challenging, 6-4 win over Lluc Limongi Ollers and Xavier VicentNavarro.
Carlos Henriquez and
Simone Pacciolla teamed up at two doubles as they fought hard for the clinching match to secure the doubles point, 7-6 (7-4) over Jordi Fraile Raton and Raul Velasco Garcia.
The Panthers transferred the emotion of winning doubles into their singles, as they secured five out of the six singles matches. At two singles, Stolin resumed his domination in singles with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Lluc Limongi Ollers, extending his winning streak to 13 in singles. Paramasivam played one singles as the match was lost 6-4, 6-1 to Osmond. Khitrou played the four singles position and showed toughness as he needed three sets to capture the win, 6-2, 0-6, 6-4 over Fraile Raton. At six singles, Pacciolla obtained the match-clinching point for the Panthers with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Velasco Garcia.
