Panthers Start Hot, Fall Short Late in GLIAC Opener

ST. PAUL, Minn. -  After a dominating start to the game, the Davenport University women's lacrosse team fell short in its GLIAC Opener to Concordia-St. Paul Sunday afternoon at the Concordia Dome.

Christine Steffes scored her first goal of the season 1:14 into the second quarter to cap off an early 6-0 run for the Panthers.

Davenport gained a 9-2 advantage with 9:03 remaining in the second quarter as Hannah Medina scored a man-up goal off an assist from Jenna Gillis

However, the Golden Bears (5-6, 1-2 GLIAC) scored eight consecutive goals in the second half to take a 15-11 lead with 5:04 remaining.
