DETROIT, Mich. - The Davenport women's tennis team wrapped up their conference schedule on Friday with a 7-0 loss to No. 8 Wayne State. DU is now 12-11 overall and 2-5 in the GLIAC. The Panthers are looking to secure the final spot in the upcoming GLIAC Tournament. They are tied with Saginaw Valley State and Ferris State could make it a three-way tie with a loss tomorrow against Michigan Tech. The doubles portion of the match saw the Warriors get two of the three to earn the point. The Panthers were victorious at two doubles as 
Skye Vandeleur and 
Hermon Mikael beat Malak Arafat and Dea Gorgidze by a score of 6-4. The other two doubles matches were tight as 
Amy Bloch and 
Willemien Coetzee fell 6-4 at one doubles against Anais Ruyssen and Marta Komar. Martyna Szpakowska and Shanice Weekes at three doubles for the Warriors needed to go a little extra to win 7-5 over 
Isabella Carofano and 
Louise Hosking.
Wayne State captured all six singles matches with just one going to three sets. Carofano at five singles battled with Weekes and after dropping the first set 7-5 came back to win 6-2 in the second set. The super tiebreak went to Weekes 10-4.
The regular season will conclude tomorrow as the Panthers travel to Lima, Ohio to take on Northwestern Ohio at 10 AM.
