HAMMOND, Ind. - Achieving more program milestones this season, Davenport University women's soccer (7-3-6, 5-2-5 GLIAC) defeated Purdue Northwest, 1-0, in the first and only regular-season matchup against the Pride in 2024.
Julia Tamasy played heroics for the Panthers in the early portions of the match, as
Gabby Scholten set up a shot attempt for the senior midfielder to result in Tamasy's first game-winner and second goal (24') in a DU uniform. The Panthers overwhelmed PNW throughout the match with the offensive attack, outpacing the Pride 17-to-5 in total shots while the defensive effort held the opponent to zero attempts on target. The shutout victory brought
Elizabeth Wolter's total shutouts to nine overall - six resulting in wins for DU.Â
The Panther victory also marked the second-most and most conference wins in a single season in DU's NCAA history, etching another historical moment in a season full of accomplishments.
Poised against No. 17 GVSU on the road in its next contest, DU will travel to Allendale, MI, on Sunday, Nov. 3, hoping to sweep the season series against the Lakers for the first time in history.
