Panthers take Adrian to the wire in 3-2 loss in GLCHL Semifinals

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - The GLCHL Tournament semifinal between Davenport and Adrian was one of the best games of the season and maybe the best game ever in the all-time series with a berth in the tournament finals on the line. The No. 2 nationally-ranked Bulldogs scored with just 1:16 left in the game on the power play for a 3-2 win. Sebastian Smith scored his 26th goal of the season with Sheldon Nolan on the winning assist.

The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead at 17:52 of the first period on the power play and then the Panthers answered quickly just 55 seconds later. Tyler Kaminski netted his second goal of the season from Heath Drye.

Ryder McMillen gave DU a 2-1 lead at 2:08 of the second period unassisted. Sam Spaedt tied it up 1:55 later with his 21st goal of the season from Ethan McLaughlin.

Davenport finished 0-for-4 on the power play and the difference in the game was that Adrian went 2-for-4. Adrian finished with 48 shots on goal with 16 in each period. Kyler Lowden kept his team in the game with a season-high 45 saves. It was the second game this season with 40 or more saves.
