GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport men's tennis team was riding some good momentum heading into Saturday's dual match against Walsh having won three straight. In back-to-back matches after a win yesterday against Lawrence Tech, the Panthers could not keep that momentum in a 4-1 loss to the Cavaliers. For DU, it was just their second loss of the season while Walsh improved to 5-3.
Walsh took two of three in doubles to earn the point.
Subash Paramasivam and
Jan Stolin at two doubles did pick up a win by a score of 7-6 (7-4) over Luis Hernandez and Joan Dasi.
Stolin got his second win of the day at one singles with a convincing 6-4, 6-0 victory over Niklas Jensen. The Cavaliers would win three singles matches at No. 2-4 spots in straight sets to get the win. The fifth and sixth singles were unfinished but Walsh led in both of those matches.
Davenport concludes a busy weekend tomorrow with a 10:00 AM match again at MVP SportsPlex against Tiffin.
