GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Davenport women's basketball team played their final home game of the 2023-24 season on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers played a strong first half but ultimately fell to No. 10 Ferris State by a final score of 84-63. After the score was 44-41 at halftime in favor of the Bulldogs, the third quarter shifted further in favor of the visitors. Ferris State clamped down on defense and outscored the Panthers 21-5 in the quarter.
Chloe Idoni scored 21 of her 25 points in the first half for the Bulldogs. She was 7-of-9 from the floor and 9-of-11 at the free throw line for the game and led all scorers. Mallory McCartney added 19 points, seven assists and three steals for FSU.
The Bulldogs finished the game shooting 44.8 percent from the floor and connected on 25-of-31 at the foul line. Davenport shot 42.4 percent for the game but had far fewer free throws going 7-of-13.
Makenna Bryant playing in her final home game as a senior came up with 10 points and four rebounds.
Mary Liedel in her last home game as a Panther finished with four points and four rebounds in 21 minutes.
Ellie Toney led the Panthers with 14 points (6-of-8 FG) and also had six rebounds and two assists.
The Panthers will make one last road trip this season heading to the Upper Peninsula beginning on Thursday with a date against Michigan Tech.
