ORLANDO, Fla. - The Davenport men's tennis squad faced Alma College on Sunday afternoon under the warmth at the USTA National Campus. The Panthers were able to halt a recent losing skid with a 6-1 victory over the Scots. The lineup was vastly different against the NCAA Division III school as several reserves got the chance to play.
Marius Pion and
Jose Brenes moved up to one flight doubles and won 6-2.
Max Dion and
Simone Pacciolla teamed up at two flight doubles for a 6-3 win.
Vance Muenzer and
Reid Reimink got the win at three flight doubles by a score of 6-2.
Pion also then took one flight honors in singles and won 6-2, 6-0 over Jake Lasceski. Pacciolla jumped up to two from his normal six spot and won 6-1, 6-1 over August Sack. Brenes at three singles overwhelmed Caleb Schuring by a 6-2, 6-0 score. Dion at four singles won 6-1, 6-2 against Ashton Trnka. Muenzer also was able to win at six singles by scores of 4-6, 6-4, 10-8.
