Panthers Host Crosstown Rival GVSU to Conclude Homestand

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -  The Davenport University men's basketball team will close out its five-game homestand on Saturday afternoon against Grand Valley State at 3 p.m. The Panthers (8-11, 3-6 GLIAC) are coming off a record-breaking performance, scoring a season-high 115 points, the sixth most in program history.

Jaden Terrell has posted career-highs in points in each of the last two games, pouring in 20 against Kuyper on Tuesday (Jan 30). The 6-7 wing also grabbed nine rebounds and dished out five assists in the victory.

Marcedus Leech Jr. scored a season-high 35 points in just 24 minutes against the Cougars last time out. He also set the new school record for three-pointers in a single contest, knocking down nine.

About the Lakers
• Ended their 2022-23 season 18-12, going 11-7 in GLIAC play, finishing fifth in the conference. The Lakers advanced to the GLIAC Tournament semifinals after defeating Lake Superior State 68-64 in the opening round. 
• Marius Grazulis, a First Team All-GLIAC selection a season ago, is the top returner for GVSU. The 6-11 forward leads the team in scoring (11.8 PPG) and rebounding (8.4 RPG).
• Along with Grazulis, three other Lakers double figures so far this season; Ethan Alderink (11.4), William Dunn (10.7) and Britain Harris (10.3). 

• The Lakers have lost three of their last four games heading into this matchup, with their win coming against Parkside, defeating the Rangers 76-54 last Saturday (Jan. 27).
