Dombek Nets Season-High 20 Points in Season Finale

MARQUETTE, Mich. - Jakub Dombek poured in a season-high 20 points in his final game with the Davenport University men's basketball team on Saturday afternoon (March 2). The Panthers (9-19, 4-14 GLIAC) fell 83-64 to Northern Michigan in the season finale. The Wildcats (20-9, 13-4 GLIAC) have locked up the No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

Dombek nailed a three-pointer with 12:57 remaining in the first half to give DU its first lead of the game (14-11).

With 6:25 left in the half, Matas Deksnys drained a shot from deep, and the Panthers took their largest lead (5) of the contest. However, NMU ended the half on a 15-2 run to take a 44-34 lead into the break.

Out of the break, Jovan Tucker and Myles Belyeu each hit a mid-range jumper to trim the DU deficit to six (44-38). Northern Michigan answered with a 14-2 run and eventually grew its lead to as large as 21 points, maintaining the double-digit lead for the remainder of the contest.
