Evers and Monroe garner First Team All-American in shot put at NCAA Outdoor Championships

EMPORIA, Kan. - The 2024 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships concluded on Saturday (May 25) and Davenport finished with 10 team points courtesy of the men's shot put in which the Panthers had two of the top seven competitors in the nation. Noah Evers finished second with a personal best of 63' 3.5" and made his mark on his fifth attempt. Evers earned First Team All-American honors in the outdoor for shot put for the first time. Bryce Monroe also finished as a First Team All-American in his first nationals appearance by claiming seventh place (57' 10.5"). He hit his best mark on the sixth and final throw of the event.

Also on Saturday, it was Bryce Albrecht competing in the pole vault and he claimed 12th place to earn Second Team All-American honors. Albrecht cleared a height of 16' 2.75" which was six inches short of his personal best. Evers also competed in the discus on Friday and finished 15th to secure Second Team All-American honors. He hit a mark of 165' 9" on his third attempt. And finally on Friday, Nikolas Shilling ran in the prelims of the 800 meters and placed 10th with a time of 1:51.46, which did not qualify for the finals.
