Panthers Downed by Pride on Thursday Evening

Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport University men's basketball team fell 80-59 on Thursday evening against Purdue Northwest at the DU Student Center.

It was a tale of two halves as the Panthers (5-12, 1-8 GLIAC) found themselves in a 46-17 deficit at halftime. However, DU had a strong second-half performance, shooting 50 percent from the floor and 46.2 percent from deep, while out-scoring the Pride (4-13, 1-8 GLIAC) 42-34 in the half.

Leading the way in the loss for the Panthers was Matyas Vrabel, putting in 14 points, grabbing nine rebounds and dishing out one assist. Jovan Tucker ended the night with 12 points, including four three-pointers for DU. Joey Cabana added nine points, while Dylan Smith and Alden Ritt chipped in with eight.

The Panthers remain home on Saturday (Jan. 25), taking on Parkside at 3 p.m. at the DU Student Center.
