ALBION, Mich. - The Davenport swimmers had a Friday evening tri-meet at Albion College taking on the Brits and also Hillsdale College on the women's side only.
The Panther women defeated Albion 142-87 and fell 135-69 against the Chargers. The Panther men defeated Albion 141-85.
On the women's side, Davenport opened the meet with a win in the 400-yard medley relay, as the quartet of Alicja Pinkowicz, Zofia Janaszek-Seydlitz, Asyia Shank, and Claire DeKievit touched first in 4:04.81. Senior Aubrey Underwood added a victory in the 500-yard freestyle (5:26.69) and finished third in the 1,000 free (11:07.86). Janaszek-Seydlitz also posted a strong second-place swim in the 200 IM (2:14.99), while Mikayla Reimink and Asyia Shank each recorded top-three finishes in their respective events. Reimink swam 25.95 in the 50 free, while Shank claimed second in the 100 back at 1:02:21.
For the men, Martino Guadagnoli dominated the distance events, winning the 1,000 free (10:05.65) and the 500 free (4:57.16). Maciej Konarski continued his impressive season with a win in the 100 backstroke (54.58) and 100 breaststroke (1:00.29), while Grant Sandstedt claimed victory in the 200 IM (2:00.91). The Panthers closed the meet with a statement in the 400 freestyle relay, as David Smith, Hunter Tietz, Nolan Breckon, and Micah Sholl took first in 3:25.11.
