TIFFIN, Ohio - The men's wrestling team placed eighth out of 12 schools at the NCAA Super Region 3 on Saturday with 27.5 team points. Cody Ueberroth (157) and Evan Wakefield (197) each had the team's best finish in sixth place. Ueberroth earned nine team points, while Wakefield scored seven team points.

Ueberroth won two matches along the way as he dropped his opening match by fall at 2:13 against Ashland's Lance Overmyer. He then won by tech fall over Toby Abbott of West Liberty (17-2) in the consolation draw. His next match lasted 44 seconds before Ueberroth earned the pinfall over Zane Perkins of Emory & Henry. Cody's same opponent in the consolation semifinals was Overmyer for the Eagles and he won by fall at 59 seconds. Ueberroth lost in the fifth place match against Seth Thomas of Salem by a fall at 1:58.

Wakefield won a pair of matches including his opening match against Luke Sparkman of Findlay by a 10-4 decision. Kaine Morris of Ashland bumped Wakefield into the consolation bracket with a win by fall at 5:37. Evan won by major decision 16-4 over Quinn Gorman of Lake Erie to stay alive and ran into Wyatt Miller of Grand Valley State in the consolation semifinals. Miller took the major decision 11-3 to send Evan into the fifth place match. He fell 11-0 by major decision against Lucas Salmon of Tiffin.

Jacob Harris won a match at 133 over Luke Shaffer of Davis & Elkins by fall at 6:54, before dropping his next two to bow out. Dustin Mallory at 165 also won a match in the consolation draw by fall at 1:36 against Dylan Knight of Salem. Darrin Alward at 174 lost his first match and rebounded for a win by fall at 1:21 over Jakob Hurley of Tiffin.

Ethan Ramsey at 184 lost by fall at 2:03 against Kyle Homet of Glenville State in his first match. He came back to win over Vaughn Petty of Findlay after he was injured just 28 seconds into the bout.
