Mallory and Wakefield Earn First-Place Finishes at Adrian Invitational

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Davenport University men's wrestling team turned in a strong performance at the Adrian Invitational on Saturday, highlighted by two individual champions and several solid finishes across the lineup.

Top Finishers:

Dustin Mallory (165 lbs) – Went 4-0 on the day with two falls, one technical fall, and a major decision (11-2) in the championship match.
Evan Wakefield (197 lbs) – Finished 3-0 overall, capped by a 2-1 decision over Baldwin Wallace's Dominic Pagan in the finals.
Ethan Ramsey (184 lbs) – Placed second after three dominant wins, including two pins and a technical fall, before falling in the title match.

Other Placers and Notable Performances:

Brody Orcutt (157 lbs) – Earned fifth place, collecting three wins including a first-round decision (8-4) and a fall in the fifth-place bout.
Darrin Alward (174 lbs) – Recorded two wins by fall (4:51) and major decision (12-0) to reach the semifinals.
Nash Cooper (184 lbs) – Tallied two victories, including a pin in just 1:29 during his opening round.
Colin Campbell (174 lbs) and Roan Cooper (133 lbs) each advanced in consolation action.
Lucas Nagle (141 lbs) and Adam Chism (285 lbs) also represented Davenport in their respective brackets.

The Panthers will return to action at the Michigan State Open in East Lansing Nov. 8 beginning at 9 AM as they continue their early-season tournament schedule.
