Panthers Close Regular Season with Pair of Losses

CALEDONIA, Mich. - The Davenport University women's tennis team closed out its regular season campaign this weekend, falling to Grand Valley State and Northwestern Ohio.

Result: L, 5-2
How it Happened
After entering singles play down 1-0, dropping all three matchups to the Lakers, Sienna Opray, and Amy Bloch picked up two points for the Panthers.

Opray was slotted at No. 1 singles, securing a 6-2, 6-7, 6-1 victory over Neus Ramos. Bloch defeated Vole Mazos 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 while playing at the No. 2 position.

At No. 5 singles, Lotte Federski went three sets with Ipek Sakiroglu but fell 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Match Two vs. #18 (NAIA) Northwestern Ohio 
Result, L, 4-3
How it Happened
In doubles action, Bloch and Federski took home a 7-5 victory over Ekaterina Orlova and Munisa Ashurbekova playing at No. 1. However, the Racers took the doubles point after winning the matchups at the No. 2 and 3 positions.

Opray secured her 20th singles victory of the year with a dominating 6-0, 6-0 win over Ashurbekova while slotted at the No. 1 spot.

At No. 2 singles, Bloch took down Orlova 6-4, 6-4, while Federski secured the final point for the Panthers with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles.
