Panthers Down Timberwolves in Regular Season Finale

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport University men's lacrosse team concluded its 2025 regular season with a 20-9 victory over Northwood on Tuesday at the DU Turf Field.

Logan Flaherty broke his own school record for ground balls in a single game, picking up 23 in the victory. He has also shattered the previous record for ground balls in a season, currently sitting with 173. The record was previously held by Jimmy DeJaeger, who had 129 in 2016.

The junior midfielder helped get the DU offense going all game, going 29-for-32 in face-offs in the win as well, bringing his face-off winning percentage to .720, which would also be a school record.

In the opening period, the Panthers dominated, getting out to a 7-0 advantage through 15 minutes of play. To open the second period, Charlie Fritz and Jayden Ashley found the back of the net, pushing the DU advantage to 9-0.

With 7:36 remaining in the half, the Timberwolves finally broke their cold spell, putting their first goal of the day on the board. Dawson Gillette and Ashley scored the final two goals of the half and Davenport took a commanding 11-2 lead into the break, which proved to be too much for NU.

Ashley paced the DU offense in the victory with seven points (five goals and two assists), while picking up three ground balls. Charlie Fritz, Luke Fritz, Gillette, Griffin Poll and Luke Eichbauer all added three points in the victory.

Antonio Hart played the entire game in net, racking up 13 saves in the victory.
