The BC Lions of the Canadian Football League have signed wide receiver Preston Smith to their roster out of Davenport University. Smith joins former Panther and fellow wide receiver Hakeem Harris in the CFL. Harris signed with Montreal back on May 1.

Standing at 6'4" and weighing 215 pounds, Smith played 31 games over the past three seasons at Davenport, where he recorded 113 receptions for 1,605 yards and 18 touchdowns. His standout performance earned him First-Team All-GLIAC honors in 2023 and Second-Team recognition in 2022. Preston is the all-time leader at DU in receiving touchdowns.
