ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Davenport University (1-4-1, 0-2-0) fell to St. Cloud State University (3-2-1, 1-0-0) in a 1-0 defeat at Husky Stadium on Friday night. Despite the Panthers' 17 shots, none found the back of the net, while the Huskies capitalized on one of their 18 shots in the second half to secure the win.

Davenport and St. Cloud State ended the first half scoreless, with both teams maintaining a strong defensive presence.
Charlie Davis of Davenport was actively involved, leading the visitors with six shot attempts, including one saved by St. Cloud St.'s goalkeeper Ramy Atia in the 15th minute, though none found the net due to solid goalkeeping by Atia.
Beau Hudd countered with key saves for the Panthers, denying the Huskies, who were called offside twice early in the half. The half concluded with both teams unable to capitalize on their opportunities. The score was 0-0 at the end of the first half.

Davenport's offensive pressure was evident in the second half, as they registered 12 shots and earned six corner kicks. However, St. Cloud State's defense, led by goalkeeper Atia, held firm, saving crucial attempts including a shot from
Aiden Phenicie in the 59th minute. Despite several opportunities, Davenport was unable to capitalize, while St. Cloud State took the lead with a goal by Andrés García in the 76th minute, assisted by Yousif Atia. The half concluded with a 1-0 advantage for St. Cloud State.

Hudd recorded seven saves in goal, facing 18 shots and allowing one goal. Davis led the team with six shots, including two on target. Phenicie finished with two shots, both of which were on goal.
Ethan Engle added one shot on goal.
Looking ahead, the Panthers are set to host Roosevelt on October 3. The match will kick off at 2 p.m. in Caledonia, Mich., where Davenport will look to capitalize on their home-field advantage.
