Panthers Fall to Ashland on Sunday Afternoon

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Davenport University women's lacrosse team fell to Ashland University with a final score of 16–6 on Sunday at the DU Turf Field. 

The first quarter commenced with Ashland taking an early lead over Davenport. The Eagles scored the opening goal at 13:19 and took a 3-0 advantage into the second quarter.

Gabby Basha opened the scoring for Davenport in the second quarter at 12:55, narrowing the Eagles' lead to two (3-1). However, Ashland quickly retaliated with a goal at 12:21, prompting a timeout from Davenport. Addison Roe answered with a goal for Davenport at 11:36 out of the timeout. Mika Kulynych added a late goal for Davenport at 1:06, concluding the quarter with the Eagles leading 7–3.

Kacie Stolarek scored her second goal of the season just over five minutes into the half, putting the score at 8-4 in favor of the Eagles. However, Ashland quickly regained momentum with a 3-0 run to take a seven goal advantage (11-4). Davenport's Addison Roe scored with 3:43 left, assisted by Gabby Basha, to bring the score to 11–5 by the end of the quarter. The Eagles outscored the Panthers 5-1 in the final quarter of play to secure the win.
