Panthers Fall to Seton Hill in G-MAC Championship

GREENSBURG, Pa. — The No. 3-seeded Davenport University men's lacrosse team fell to top-seeded Seton Hill University 16-10 at DSG Field on Saturday in the G-MAC Championship. Despite the loss, the Panthers excelled in faceoffs, winning 19 out of 30. 

Tommy Becker of Davenport netted the first goal of the contest at 9:54 in the opening quarter. Seton Hill responded with a goal at 6:40, leveling the score.  After surrendering a man-up goal, the Panthers quickly countered with a goal by Griffin Poll. However, Seton Hill secured the lead by the end of the quarter with a goal with just 10 seconds remaining, concluding the quarter with a 3–2 lead.

Davenport opened the second quarter with a goal from Luke Eichbauer scored at 12:30, assisted by Dieter Bloch. However, the Griffins responded with four consecutive goals to take a 7-3 lead into the half.

Seton Hill extended its lead early in the third quarter with a pair of goals. DU responded with a man-up goal from Luke Eichbauer at 8:06, assisted by Jayden Ashley, narrowing the gap. Davenport kept pace with a score by Tommy Becker at 3:48. The quarter concluded with another goal by Eichbauer at 00:05, bringing Davenport's total to six, while Seton Hill held a 12–6 advantage.

Davenport started the final quarter with a goal from Luke Fritz off an assist from Becker, narrowing the deficit to five (12-7). Tommy Becker then contributed a goal of his own, assisted by Jayden Ashley, maintaining pressure on the Griffins. Despite four fourth quarter goals, DU could not overcome the late deficit.
