Box Score ROLLA, Mo. — Davenport (0-2-0) continued to battle Saturday afternoon in a challenging road matchup against Missouri S&T (2-0-0). The Panthers worked to create opportunities and stayed competitive throughout the match, but the Miners came out strong offensively and built on their lead throughout the afternoon, earning a 5-0 victory on their home field.

Beau Hudd recorded nine saves in the match, keeping the Panthers in the game with several important stops. Aidan Orth led Davenport with two shots, while Henry Lopez added a shot on goal as the Panthers looked to generate opportunities offensively.

Davenport's defense was tested early as Hudd turned away Mike Banasik's shot at 4:31. S&T broke through in the 13th minute when Caleb Lepant found the back of the net, and Brendan Owens added another goal just over two minutes later to give the Miners a 2-0 lead.

Davenport continued to look for an answer, with Orth and Lopez each getting chances, but neither attempt found the net. S&T added two more goals before halftime, with Banasik and Ian Conner finding the back of the net to send the Miners into the break with a 4-0 advantage.

The Panthers came out of halftime looking to find some momentum and created several more opportunities. Jordy Rodriguez and Alexis Rivera-Velasquez each recorded a shot, but Davenport was unable to cut into the deficit.

Hudd continued to battle in goal throughout the second half, making several saves, including a stop on Jake Salazar-Blair in the 67th minute. S&T added one final goal in the 83rd minute when Juliano Costa scored off an assist from Lepant, bringing the final score to 5-0.

Davenport will look to bounce back Thursday, Sept. 3, when the Panthers travel to Midland, Mich., to take on Northwood. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
