WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The Davenport women's rugby team cruised to a 44-0 win on the road at West Chester on Saturday morning in NIRA action. The match was scoreless through the first 12 minutes before Davenport broke through with a pair of trys in a span of two minutes to lead 12-0.

The Panthers added two more trys before halftime to carry a 22-0 lead into intermission. DU equaled their first half total in the second half with 22 points for the 44-0 decision. Team captain Leilani Lepe scored two trys to pace the offense. Rachel Wilkie, Kara Higgins, and Makayla Koetsier contributed in a big way and paved the way for forwards Meliah Poua-Florez and Nala Mayorga with punishing tackles and strong offensive play. 

The Panthers (2-0) return home next Saturday (Sept. 19) for a 10:00 AM matchup against Frostburg State at the DU Turf Field.
