GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The women's rugby team scored a season-high 58 points in a 58-5 rout of Frostburg State on Saturday at the DU Turf Field. The Panthers were on their game early with two tries and one conversion in the opening six minutes for a 12-0 lead. Frostburg State had no answer for the Panthers' firepower as DU extended their lead to 36-0 at halftime.

The opening 10 minutes of the second half went back-and-forth, but Davenport once again got on the board. The Bobcats would get deep into DU territory but couldn't cross the scoring line for a try. The Panthers continued to apply pressure on FSU and pushed their lead to 58-0. Frostburg State avoided the shutout in the final minutes with a try on the right side, but could not convert the kick. DU improved to 3-0 this season and have yet to be challenged. 

Alopa Nau led the way in scoring with three tries and Marla Aymond added two. Leilani Lepe was solid in attack all game and made some huge try saving tackles to limit Frostburg State's scoring. DU featured heavily around the pitch and scored multiple times, as did freshman Trinity Ruatti. Very good field awareness often sees the wing in support of Nau, taking the offload and slashing to the try zone. And the incomparable Lepe at scrumhalf continues to shine, driving a fast game in tricky conditions, contributing points in the try zone and through the posts, and sending well placed kicks to relieve defensive pressure.
