GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Davenport earned a 1-1 draw with Northern Michigan on Sunday in its first home match of the season after falling to Saginaw Valley State, 6-0, in its GLIAC opener. The Panthers will return to the road this week, traveling to Parkside on Friday, Sept. 25, before facing Purdue Northwest on Sunday, Sept. 27. 

Dugan Black scored Davenport's lone goal against Northern Michigan, finding the back of the net at 44:08 off an assist from Archie Oliver. Black finished with three shots, all on goal, while Nathan Hikspoors made four saves in 90 minutes of action. 

The Panthers enter the week at 1-3-3 overall and 0-1-1 in GLIAC play. Hikspoors has recorded nine saves through two matches, while Isiah Meyer leads Davenport with two goals and four points. Davenport will look to earn its first GLIAC win of the season when it travels to Parkside on Friday.
