Davenport Battles Tiffin to Scoreless Draw

TIFFIN, Ohio — Davenport battled Tiffin to a scoreless draw Saturday, with the Panthers turning in a strong defensive effort to keep the Dragons off the scoreboard.

Beau Hudd played all 90 minutes in goal and made three saves to record his second shutout of the season. Kevin Hubbell led Davenport with one shot on goal, while Lance Toutanji also added a shot on frame.

The Panthers faced pressure from Tiffin throughout the match, with Hudd making two saves in the opening half. Hubbell put Davenport's first shot on goal in the 25th minute, while Charlie Davis sent an attempt wide late in the half.

Tiffin continued to push in the second half, putting together an 11-action stretch from 64:31 to 72:49 that included five shots and six corner kicks. Hudd kept the Dragons off the board, including a save on Yaw Turkson in the 61st minute. Toutanji gave Davenport a chance on the other end when he put a shot on goal in the 78th minute, but neither team could find the breakthrough.

Davenport moves to 0-2-2 overall, while Tiffin is now 1-1-2.

The Panthers return to action Saturday, Sept. 12, traveling to Grand Rapids, Michigan, to take on Aquinas at noon.
