2019 (R-Jr.): Named GLIAC All-Excellence Academic...returned from injury sustained during football season to play in seven games and make five starts...batted .286 with four hits in 14 at-bats...scored three runs and drove in three runs...also saw time on the mound throwing 4.1 innings...posted a 4.15 ERA in three appearances and struck out four.

2018 (R-Soph.): Named GLIAC All-Excellence Academic...played in 28 games and made 22 starts at catcher...batted .242 (16-66) with 14 runs scored and 15 RBI...collected one double and one home run...posted .414 on-base percentage drawing 10 walks and hit by pitch 10 times...went 2-for-3 with two RBI versus Minnesota State on Mar. 2...went 2-for-4 with a season-high four RBI against Ashland on Apr. 28.

2017 (Soph.): Redshirted.

2016 (Fr.): Played in eight games and made seven starts...batted .474 with nine hits in 19 at-bats...collected two doubles and two RBI...hit by pitch three times and drew a walk (.565 on-base percentage)...fielded 1.000 with 53 putouts and six assists...threw out two base stealers in eight attempts...batted .417 with runners on base...had a six-game hitting streak and reached base in all eight games he appeared.

High School: Prepped at Rockford High School under coach Matt Vriesenga...named MLive/Grand Rapids Defensive Player of the Year as a senior...three-year starter on varsity at linebacker...named team captain and recorded 120 tackles including 23 tackles for loss...named All-OK Red in baseball for three years...named MHSBCA Division I Second Team All-State on the diamond in 2013 and 2014.

Personal: Son of Scot and Nancy Showers...majoring in risk management and insurance...also plays linebacker at Davenport.
