DAVENPORT UNIVERSITY PANTHERS

Our Mission

Our Mission

Our Mission
Established in 2015, Davenport University Pompon was founded to provide those with a passion for traditional pompon the opportunity to continue to perform, compete, grow and learn past the high school level while earning their degree at Davenport University.
We are geared to support value and integrity through community involvement, school spirit, pride, team unity and motivation. Striving towards academic and athletic excellence, our program provides an environment that facilitates success in the class room and on the floor through teaching the value of responsibility, time management, goal oriented training and teamwork.  Our mission is to serve as ambassadors to Davenport University, grow into outstanding student athletes and community members as well as support the growth of and serve as positive role models to the sport of pompon.
We prepare throughout the season to perform on multiple platforms including the Mid American Pompon States Championship and High-Kick Championship, multiple University events including football half time shows and sidelines, basketball half time shows, Michigan Pom Association championship showcases and other community events throughout Michigan. New to this season the team will be preparing to compete at the National level with Dance Team Union in Orlando Florida for their College Classica National Invitational.
A fully funded program, DU Pom has the ability to offer athletic scholarships as well as drive the success of the program and its athletes by providing all members with what they will need in each season.  This includes travel, gear, uniforms, competition fees, hotel stays and food while traveling. We engage in fundraising annually as well to enhance that support offered to our Student Athletes.
Davenport University Pompon is a collegiate level competitive sports team affiliated with the Varsity Athletic Department at Davenport University.

Our Team Members
Team members are selected by their outstanding performance skills, showmanship, teamwork and unity abilities, professionalism and ability to maintain high levels of academic success.
As with all collegiate sports teams, a level of pristine dedication and commitment is required and the ability to multitask is valued. High levels of academic achievement and the program’s success should remain a top priority to all team members. All team members must maintain and minimum of 2.8 and be a full time student to remain eligible to the program.
