2023: Performed well in his first season at DU...posted a 4.66 ERA and 3-0 record in 15 appearances with one save...tossed 29 innings and allowed 30 hits and 15 runs...walked 10 and struck out 16...opponents hit .256 against him on the season...lefties batted just .200 against him (4-20)...threw 3.1 innings against Ashland on Mar. 3 with no walks and three strikeouts...tossed 3.2 innings of three-hit ball with a walk and strikeout against Grand Valley State on Mar. 28...finished the season with 1.2 innings in the GLIAC Tournament against Grand Valley State and allowed no runs with no walks and a punchout.

Prior to DU: Transfer from Spring Arbor University (Mich.) after playing three seasons with the Cougars...posted a 2.76 ERA in the shortened COVID-19 season in 2020 in six appearances and 16.1 innings...went 3-3 in 2021 in 41 innings and earned one save...walked 17 and struck out 24...posted a 5.67 ERA in 2022 with a 6-5 record and two saves in 66.2 innings...made 21 appearances and allowed 42 earned runs with 16 walks and 53 strikeouts...led the team in innings pitched and was third in strikeouts.

High School: Prepped at Lakeland Christian (Fla.) under head coach Blane Fox...during his senior year, posted a 1.35 ERA with a 5-1 record in 52 innings...allowed 10 earned runs and also recorded 13 walks and 33 strikeouts...member of the 2019 3A State Champions and was named All-State as a senior.

Personal: Majoring in sport management...born on October 30...son of Scott and Krista Kontny...favorite movie is Field of Dreams.
