Chris Oppel returns for his fifth season as assistant baseball coach and his second at the helm of the junior varsity program.

Oppel, who been part of the entire Kevin Tidey era of the Davenport baseball program, helped guide the Panthers to national prominence the last two seasons, highlighted with a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference championship,l two WHAC Tournament titles and back-to-back appearances in the NAIA National Championship.
