Sam Flamont comes to Davenport directly from Central Michigan University where he served as a volunteer assistant for the 2010 MAC Champion Chippewas.
Flamont spent the four years prior to CMU as the co-owner and operator of "In The Zone", a baseball and softball training center located in Traverse City, Mich.
Sam graduated from Western Michigan, where he earned All-MAC and all-region honors as a senior after hitting .401 with nine home runs and 56 RBI. He headed to WMU after spending two years at Grand Rapids Community College, where he hit .421 as a freshman with seven homers and helping the Raiders to a 28-2 conference record.
After his collegiate playing days, Flamont signed as a free agent with the Detroit Tigers and spent 2002 with the Gulf Coast League Tigers and Lakeland Tigers.
He spent the next three seasons in the Frontier League, first with Kalamazoo in 2003 and then with Windy City and Kalamazoo in 2004, before wrapping up his professional career with Joliet of the Northern League in 2005.
Flamont hit .323 with seven home runs during the first half of the 2004 season, earning him an All-Star selection at second base in the Frotnier League All-Star Game.
