Former Emory University standout Ryan Covert enters his third year as Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach at Davenport University. During the 2011 season, Ryan was responsible for a faceoff unit that helped Davenport win its first ever MCLA DII National Championship.

"It’s great to have Ryan back as an assistant coach where he will focus on the offense” Head Coach Bob Clarkson said. “Ryan brings a passion and determination that will pay dividends for the Panther offense. “

While at Emory University Covert was a 3X MCLA All American, Sonny Pieper Defensive Player of the Year, and three year team captain. After graduating from Emory, Ryan continued his playing career in Australia with the West Torrens Eagles in Adelaide. While there, he also coached a U17 team to a state championship. Ryan returned to the U.S. in 2009 to play for the MLL's Chicago Machine.

Covert has coached at the high school level at Forest Hills Central (Grand Rapids, MI), Naperville North (Naperville, IL) and at Evanston Township High (Evanston, IL) as well as the Brine Midwest All American recruiting team.

Ryan runs a lacrosse company with his business partners called True Lacrosse that operates travel teams, camps, and recruiting events throughout the Midwest. In 2011 Ryan’s High School True Lacrosse Team won the NSCLA Club Lacrosse National Championship.

Covert, a native of St. Louis, MO, holds a Bachelor's degree in Consulting and New Venture Management from Emory University.
