Box Score
Adrian, Mich. - The first few minutes of the Davenport Women's Lacrosse program could not have gotten off to a better start. Unfortunately, the team was unable to continue the torid start as Davenport fell 10-5 to Adrian College in the program's first ever lacrosse match.
The Panthers, which begins women's lacrosse under the direction of Head Coach Stacy Faulkner this spring, scored the first three goals of the game, two off the stick of Jamie VandeWinkle and one from Brittany Roys. After leading 3-0, the Panthers would then watch the host Bulldogs real off six straight goals to take a 6-3 lead by halftime. Adrian then opened the second half quickly with their seventh unanswered goal and would go on to win the game 10-5.
Brittany Roys added one more goal to tie VandeWinkle with two goals each and Lydia Bedford would add a late goal for her first of the season.
Davenport will open their home schedule this Thursday, March 20, when they host Grand Valley State at 6:00. All women's lacrosse games will take place at Mehney Field on the campus of East Grand Rapids Middle School. Click on the directions page for more information from the main athletics page.
