Wheaton, Ill. - The weekend has just begun for the Lady Panthers lacrosse team but after two games, they find themselves at 2-0. Friday night's 6-4 victory over Bowling Green at the Wheaton Tournament is the 2nd straight overall win for DU and lifts them to .500 on the year at 3-3.
After scoring 14 goals in their Thursday night victory over Ferris, the Panthers held tough on the defensive end led by goalie Shaye Bradley (13 saves). Lisa Brown also chipped in on the defensive end that allowed only 4 goals by the opposition.
After leading just 2-1 at halftime, the offenses woke up for both teams and Davenport responded well as they found themselves trailing 4-3 at the 10:07 mark. Two late goals by Daniella Bugli and one from Kendra Stieg propelled DU into the lead where they would hang on 6-4.
Davenport will be back in action today when they stay in Wheaton to take on Hope College and Oakland University.
