BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Panthers put up 10 goals for the second consecutive game as they soundly defeated former GMHL foe Indiana University in Bloomington on Friday night. DU has now won six straight games and sits at 6-2 on the year with a Saturday afternoon game scheduled with the Hoosiers.
DU, fresh off a sweep of their ACHA D2 Showcase opponents, scored ten goals for the second consecutive game as they defeated Indiana 10-2.
The Panthers scored five goals in the opening period while allowing only a single goal. Brit Ouellette (Windsor, Ontario) scored two of his three goals on the night and was joined by Marc Thompson (Traverse City, Mich.), Bobby Collar (Brighton, Mich.) and Josh Andres (Kentwood, Mich.).
Ouellette then opened the second period with a goal to give him the hat-trick and Jonathon Frank (Wallingford, Conn.) added his first of the game.
The third period was again dominated by the Panthers as Thompson picked up his second of the night and DU also got goals from Jared Mailloux (Amherstburg, Ontario) and Jeff Slusser (Kentwood, Mich.).
Leading the way with assists on the night were Jeremy Barber (Caledonia, Mich.) and Bobby Collar who finished with three each as Kevin Brojek (Sterling Heights, Mich.) finished with two.
DU will take on Indiana on Saturday at 2:30 PM.
