GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Davenport cruised to a 105-46 win on Monday night as they prepare to take on NCAA D1 Eastern Michigan this Saturday in Ypsilanti. The win, which is the seventh straight for Davenport to open the season, featured three different double-double's by the home team.

A missed shot that was closely followed by an easy putback by Lorenzo Ecford (Chicago, Ill.) was a sign of things to come as DU posted 14 straight points in 3:46 to open the game.

After a basket by Holy Cross stopped the Davenport run, the Panthers then went on a 23-6 run that was highlighted by an emphatic slam dunk from Ecford and baskets by seven different players to give DU a 37-8 lead.

The lead would grow as large as 35 in the opening half on two free-throws from junior Nathan Cox (Flushing, Mich.) and the Panthers ended the first half up by 32 (50-18).

The defense stormed all night long and forced the Saints into 15 first half turnovers and limited them to just 25% (7/28) from the field.

The second half was much of the same and after a sloppy start by the Panthers, DU increased the lead to 55 (79-24) halfway through on a jumpshot from Cox. Davenport, which came into the game ranked #20 in the NAIA poll, never let up even as their bench outscored the entire Saints roster 59-46.

Davenport finished the night shooting 49% from the floor as they connected on 41 of 83 shots and limited Holy Cross to just 27%.

DU had three different players finish with double-doubles led by Lorenzo Ecford's 14 points and 11 rebounds. Nathan Cox posted 13 points and 10 rebounds while freshman Max Prendergast had 11 points and 11 rebounds for his first career double-double.

DU will travel to the east side of the state on Saturday for a 2:00 matchup with the Eagles of Eastern Michigan. EMU was picked to finish 3rd in the MAC west and sport a 2-2 overall record with a game on Tuesday night against Southeast Missouri State.

Gene Halbert and Aaron Sagraves will have the call on the DAN beginning at 1:45 PM from Ypsilanti.
