KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Thomas has been a household name when it comes to Davenport hockey, but it was Cam Thomas that led the Panthers to a convincing 9-1 win over Western Michigan on Saturday night. The win lifts DU to 13-9 on the year with GMHL foe Ohio State coming to town next weekend.
After a very disappointing loss to WMU on Friday night, Davenport responded in a big way behind the stellar play of rookie goaltender Cam Thomas (Kentwood, Mich.). He would post his first win in a DU uniform with the help of fellow Kentwood players as well.
Ben Dykstra, Adam Thomas and Jeff Slusser, who all hail from Kentwood, scored a combined four goals on the same line as DU dominated every facet of the game.
The win lifts the Panthers to 13-9 on the year as they will host the Buckeyes of Ohio State next Friday and Saturday at Patterson Ice Center.
