CHICAGO, Ill. - In the 2009 season opener, the offense failed to post any goals as DU fell 1-0 to host Illinois Tech. The Panthers fall to 0-1 on the season and will travel to Trinity International on Saturday to face the Trojans.

Davenport, under first year head coach Chris Allen, could not find the back of the net on Friday night in downtown Chicago as the Illinois Tech defense proved too tough.

Catherine Howard (Lowell, Mich.) got the start in goal for DU and allowed just one goal on 10 shots from the host team while the Davenport offense only mustered up six shots for the 90 minutes as Tech scored the lone goal of the game in the 75th minute.

In the short four year history of the women's soccer program, the Panthers are now 0-3-1 in season openers.

DU falls to 0-1-0 on the year and they will stay in the Chicago area tomorrow for a 2:00 matchup against Trinity International.
