Box Score
FORT MYERS, Fla. - In a rematch of a game played earlier in Albany, the Saints of Siena were no match for the Panthers as DU won their 6th straight with a convincing 10-3 win. Davenport still plays Colorado and Florida Gulf Coast over the weekend.
Davenport returned to the ice last weekend with two easy wins over Penn State and began the Florida/Arizona swing the next seven days quickly on Thursday night when Bobby Collar (Brighton, Mich.) scored just 40 seconds into the game.
It would be a sign of things to come as Brit Ouellette (Windsor, Ontario) scored to make it 2-0. After a Saints goal cut the lead in half, the Panthers scored the next two from Clay Mattson (Livonia, Mich.) and Marc Thompson (Traverse City, Mich.).
Late in the second period, DU got two more goals after another Siena goal and Davenport would take a 6-2 lead into the 3rd with a second goal from Mattson and the first of the night from Sean McWhorter (Lansing, Mich.).
Quickly in the third, Siena cut into the lead once again, but it would be their last of the night as the Panthers ran off the final four goals of the game to win 10-3.
The final four were scored by Brit Ouellette (two to make it a hat-trick) while 5th year players Adam Thomas (Kentwood, Mich.) and Chad Rutzel (Howell, Mich.) each collected a goal.
DU will take on Colorado in the second game before taking on the host school on Saturday.
