GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - For the second consecutive night, the Panthers posted 10 goals and easily left Patterson Ice Center with a 10-0 shutout of Central Michigan.  The win sets the stage for a weekend series with Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO on Friday and Saturday.

Looking to gain even more confidence headed into their first big series of the season next weekend, the Panthers wasted no time getting the puck in the net as Bobby Collar (Brighton, Mich.)scored less than a minute into the game on assists from Matt Morang (Dearborn, Mich.) and Kevin Brojek (Sterling Heights, Mich.)

The Panthers continued to pile it on in the first 11 minutes of the opening period as they accounted for four more goals from Ben Dykstra (Kentwood, Mich.), Jeff Slusser (Kentwood, Mich.), Collar and Adam Kuhn (Southgate, Mich.).  The scoring was finished off by Matt Morang's (Dearborn, Mich.) goal with just over one minute to play to put DU in front 6-0 after just 20 minutes of play.

The goals slowed down over the next two periods but Davenport did manage to light the lamp twice in each as captain Brit Ouellette (Windsor, Ontario) and Kuhn scored in the second while Jeff Slusser (Kentwood, Mich.) added his second of the night to open the third and the scoring was finished by Philip Tesoriero.

Kevin Brojek (Sterling Heights, Mich.) finished the night with four assists to lead the Panthers in scoring while Bobby Collar (Brighton, Mich.) had three points on two goals and one assist and Brit Ouellette (Windsor, Ontario) also finished with three points with one goal and two assists.

Freshman goaltender Joe D'Elia (Toronto, Ontario) finished the game with 27 saves to earn his first win in net as a Panthers and first shutout.

Davenport will now begin a very difficult stretch of road games that starts at defending ACHA D-I champion Lindenwood University next Friday. That night, the Lions will raise their 2009-10 championship banner.
