Lady Panthers Post 0-0 Tie on Road Against Illinois Tech

Davenport is now 5-1-2 on the year entering WHAC play

CHICAGO, Ill. - In their final tune up before conference play, the Davenport women's soccer team came away with a 0-0 tie against CCAC opponent Illinois Tech.  DU will bring a 5-1-2 overall record with them as they begin conference play next Saturday at Madonna.

Looking to pick up a win in their final game before the WHAC schedule begins, the Lady Panthers were unable to post any goals but at the same time kept their opponent off the scoreboard to end up with a 0-0 tie against Illinois Tech.

Davenport finished the game outshooting the Scarlet Hawks 12-4 (6-1 on goal) but the IIT keeper was up to the task as she posted six saves on the day. FreshmanLizzie Paul (England) led the attack with three on goal as Laken Duchar-Clark (London, England), Ashley Phillips (Stevensville, Mich.) and Ashley Roth (Wyoming, Mich.) each posted one.

Freshman goalkeeper Jessica Bergsma (Jenison, Mich.) continued her solid play in net finishing with her fifth shutout of the year to bring her overall record to 5-1-2.

Davenport will open conference play next Saturday when they travel to Madonna University for a 12:30pm matchup with the Crusaders.
